Advantages
Quantitative research allows for a broader study, which involves a greater number of subjects, and enhancing the genrraisation of the results. This is useful to the research of short films because it allows people who are being asked these questions to come out with answers other people would choose.
Another advantage of quantitative research is that it can allow greater accuracy of results. This is very useful when researching about my film because it will give me a more certain answer of what people want.
Finally quantitative research is useful because it can stop personal bias because it can be avoided by researchers keeping a 'distance' from participating people and employing subjects known to them. This is useful when researching about my film because a bias view can change someones opinion on something, but if there is not a bias view then the answer will be very accurate.
Disadvantages
A disadvantage of quantitative research is that it can collect a much narrower dataset which is not very useful when researching about my short film because it would be useful to have a wider range of data so it could give me a more of a range of ideas.
Another disadvantage is that the development of standard questions by researchers can lead to false representation because the data reflects the view of them instead of the participating person.
