Entries at Sundance
3,700 submissions -- only about 120 features are invited to screen at the festival.
This shows that short films are not as successful than feature films but Sundance still get a significant amount of submissions which is very important for my short film because it shows even though there is significant amount of people who would rather watch feature lengths short films are still quite popular and its festivals such as Sundance which make it possible and more known to the public.
The purpose of doing this research for my short film is quite significant because it shows although short films are not as popular as feature lengths that short films still have a place in the market and it makes some of the best directors in the industry such as Christopher Nolan who's first film was a short film named 'Doodlebug'.
